Concerts. Dozens of rides and attractions. Free Shows. Fireworks. The biggest state-wide fair is back! The Meadowlands State Fair in Rutherford, NJ kicked off this past weekend and will run from now through July 8. I’ve been to this exciting fair a handful of times and I assure you it’s one not to be missed.
Rides, Games, Special Attractions This year’s fair features dozens of thrilling rides for adults and teens as well as more than 25 rides for children including live animal rides. The most exciting ride at this year’s fair is the Batcopter Ride, which is the original helicopter from the 1966 Batman TV series. Ride the same helicopter that Batman and Robin used to fight crime in Gotham City over 40 years ago!
If rides and games aren’t your things, there’s also tons of boardwalk-style food, contests, competitions and special events. Special attractions and sideshows include the World of Wonder, one of the last “freak” shows in America. If games are more your thing, this year’s fair features water games, racing games, shooting galleries, balloon pops, pitch games, basketball, guessing games, duck ponds, fishing and more.
The line-up of shows for this year’s fair are:
Circus Maximus
Live Shark Encounter
The Big Cats Show
The Steve Bayner Hypnotist Show
Belmont Festival of Magic
Rosaire’s Royal Racing Pigs
Commerford’s Educational Petting Zoo & Live Animal Rides
