Meet the Greeks is an event that most schools host in the beginning of each school year.
New Jersey's "Meet the Greeks" programs are a great way for organizations on campus to introduce themselves to new & incoming students. It's also great for students to attend to see the organizations that their college campus has to offer. Check out the Meet the Greeks photos on our University page.

The event usually starts out with everyone in a large room hosted by the Greek Councils at your particular university. When it begins, the host will have all representatives from each Greek chapter introduce their organizations and give a brief history about the organization on a national and chapter level. They will discuss the various programs they host on campus and nationally as well. This helps provide a discrete way as to which organization table you will like to visit to gain further knowledge on which organization to join.

The layout is usually set-up like a round robin; a group of tables with each organization for you to check-out and ask questions. This helps everyone see all the distinguished sororities (women) and fraternities (men) at the same time. Note some organizations are multi-cultural (Mix of Men & Women).
While joining an organization is fun and helps to get to know more people at a rapid pace, it also involves lots of hard work. Community service projects and meetings will be a part of your weekly routine as a member. So remember that when choosing a sorority or fraternity, it is a lifetime commitment, so you want to make sure you are confident when choosing the organization of your choice. Good luck!
